Bridge Fund

The Bridge Fund is a financial assistance program aimed at bringing high-quality arts programming to children at under-served schools, after-school programs, and libraries in Maryland; Washington, DC and northern Virginia.
Upon selection, Class Acts Arts agrees to cover a portion of the cost of the performance or residency fee for a Class Acts artist or artist group.

What organizations are eligible to participate?

Under-served schools, after-school programs, and libraries in Maryland; Washington, DC and northern Virginia.
The audience for the arts programs must be children or youth between the ages of 2 and 18.

How can we check if our school or organization qualifies as under-served
for the Bridge Fund?

Schools

Bridge Fund eligibility for schools is determined by school FARMS (Free and Reduced-Price Meals) rates. Your school qualifies if its FARMS rate is above 40%. Contact Class Acts Arts School and Community Outreach staff for more information via email or by phone at 301-588-7525.

After-School Programs/Libraries

Bridge Fund eligibility for after-school programs and libraries is determined by the level of poverty in the surrounding community based on the 2000 U.S. Census. Your after-school program or library qualifies if the Poverty Status of Families with Related Children Under 18 Years for your census tract is above the state average. Contact Class Acts Arts School and Community Outreach staff for more information via email or by phone at 301-588-7525.

What costs are covered?

Performances

Class Acts Arts agrees to cover up to 1/3 of the cost of a performance. This "bridging" money is designed to make a program possible that would not be able to occur otherwise.

Residencies

Class Acts Arts will work with schools and organizations to determine support on a case-by-case basis. Residencies may involve more substantial expense, but certain donors may be interested in funding such longer-term residencies. Class Acts Arts' staff will explore unique fundraising and partnership opportunities to help in covering costs.
