highly interactive and curriculum connected. Our artists come from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures,
and artistic disciplines.

Class Acts Arts, Inc., a nonprofit, arts education outreach organization serving the Greater Washington, DC Metropolitan area, is proud to announce its new name: Artivate, Inc. After more than 20 years of bringing the arts to schools and communities as Class Acts Arts, the organization embarked on a rebranding project this spring to rejuvenate its brand and better connect with audiences.

Class Acts ROCKS! @ The Fillmore Silver Spring
Class Acts Arts artists Cello Fury from Pittsbugh and DC native Christylez Bacon with Wytold Lebing will bring their extraordinary sound to the hottest stage in the DC area! Join us at The Fillmore Silver Spring on Wednesday, March 25. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show begins at 7:30pm.

Cantare will bring their interactive cultural arts programming to the stage for the Silver Spring Maker Faire this Sunday, September 14. Stop by the Veterans Plaza stage from 12:30 to 1:30 and then enjoy the rest of the faire!

Through their performance, Cantare will encourage all to sing and dance on this Latin American tour exploring the Indigenous, European and African cultures that shape its music. Share Cantaré’s captivating Spanish and Portuguese songs and rhythms and experience fascinating instruments - donkey jaw, goat toenail rattle and armadillo shell guitar. Themed programs include Carnaval, Navidad, Rainforest, Native American Roots and Latin American Folktales). Performance highlights include National Museum of Women in the Arts, Kennedy Center, Strathmore, Smithsonian Discovery Theater and Wolf Trap.
The Washington Area Music Association nominated Cantaré 7 times for Best Children’s Group or Best Latin Group, and Cecilia Esquivel 5 times for Best Latino Vocalist. She received the WAMMIE award in 2004, 2007 and 2008. Cantaré is a 2006 Parents’ Choice Recommended award winner for their CD, Al Agua Pato. A larger ensemble is also available. Winter discount.
Class Acts Arts begins a year-long celebration of the arts in education and artists in the community. The celebration kicks off on Thursday, October 16 at the Silver Spring Civic Building from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Proceeds from the event benefit the Class Acts Arts educational outreach programming.
